Reporting an incident of Anti-Social Behaviour
Crime is a very broad concept. This can make it difficult to know
where is the best place to report an issue you may witness or experience.
There are 3 options
1. Emergency Crime
- Is the crime in progress?
- Do you require urgent police assistance?
- Are you or other people in danger?
Call 999
2. Non Emergency Crime
- Have you witnessed/been a victim of a non-emergency crime?
- Do you require police response but not immediately?
Call the Avon & Somerset non-emergency service
desk 101
3. LOW LEVEL Anti Social Behaviour
There is a number you can call if you wish to REPORT anti social behaviour. This may be, for example, noise, neighbour nuisance or
fly-tipping - these are issues that:
- Do not require direct police response
- Does not need an immediate response
- Does allow the relevant agency to acknowledge the issue, collate evidence etc
Not all Anti-Social Behaviour can be dealt with by the Council. Therefore, you may be asked to terminate
your call and call the police.
If you think this is the correct route for your report call the Anti Social Behaviour 24 hour hotline
on 0800 298 2009.
The Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Database
Anti-Social Behaviour is at the forefront of crime reduction agendas and is the main contributing factor to the publics fear of crime. It is therefore
essential that we maximise our crime reduction capacity by sharing information between all agencies that deal with disorder in Sedgemoor. Reports of Anti-Social Behaviour received at Sedgemoor
District Council will be dealt with on a case by case basis. All information received is held on a database to assist with intelligence lead crime prevention, and may be shared with third parties for
the purposes of crime prevention.
